Against Straight Lines
Oil on Aluminium
50x40 cm
I met this young man in London, where his striking presence and unforced femininity immediately stood out. He wore a skirt and even a lampshade as a hat, carrying it with such confidence and grace that I asked him to model for a portrait. For me, the work became about identity lived openly and proudly — standing against the expectations and traditions that shape even a free and democratic society.
This piece is a part of permanent collection of European Museum of Art (MEAM) in Barcelona.
