The Traveller
Oil on Canvas
100x110 cm
Once in a while, amidst the crowd, you see a face that stays with you. For me, it was this young Black woman with green eyes, whom I later painted seated on a suitcase. As I worked, I thought of ancestry, journeys, and the stories that carry people across borders — and she became a symbol of the present and the future of our Western civilization.
